Mathilda Joubert, Owner/ Founder of SA-vor Wines

With more than 350 years of wine history, South Africa is often described as bridging the gap between the Old World and the New World: many wines are made using modern winemaking techniques but often have more in common stylistically with their Old World counterparts. The wines produced in South Africa are truly some of the most exciting and diverse to be found anywhere, with a young generation of winemakers constantly innovating and re-inventing the standard of South African wine.

Mathilda Joubert, co-founder and owner of SA-vor Wines, has quickly become a friend of Foxcroft, and will be our guest speaker for this event. She started the company with her husband, Jac, in 2021. They were both born and raised in South Africa, leading them to start a company that would not only help the local vintners, but would also share the diversity and caliber of wine that they produce to America. Supporting small, family-owned farms that produce high quality South African wines has always been their goal, and one that they have achieved. Chef Brian Lombard has created a unique four-course menu that will complement each of the 8 wines that Mathilda will serve.
