DW | Taste of Place Wine Dinner: Exploring Terroir with Deb Lewis and Vintage ’59 Imports

Why do wines made from the same grape variety in different vineyards taste to strikingly different?

Why are some places better for growing grapes at all than others?

Does a place or a country or region actually have a taste you can taste?

What’s more important for making quality wine, the winemaker or the soil in the vineyard?

These are just some of the questions we’ll explore in the most enjoyable way possible, by tasting 8 wines from small, family-owned and run producers from all over France. Our guide on this tasting journey will be Deb Lewis, a dear friend of Foxcroft and longtime Southeast & Mid-Atlantic Sales Manager for Vintage ’59 Wine Imports, a trusted name for bringing us the best that France has to offer.
