GREENVILLE SC | Terroir-Focused Wine Dinner with David McCarus

The Taste of a Place: Terroir, Farmers, Families and Wine

Why do wines made from the same grape variety in different vineyards taste to strikingly different?

Why are some places better for growing grapes at all than others?

Does a place or a country or region actually have a taste you can taste?

What’s more important for making quality wine, the winemaker or the soil in the vineyard?

These are just some of the questions we’ll explore in the most enjoyable way possible, by tasting 8 wines from small, family-owned and run producers from all over France. Our guide on this tasting journey will be David McCarus, owner and founder of McCarus Beverage Company, a Charleston-based wine importer & distributor with an unwavering focus on families, farming and the beautifully small in wine. Their motto is a great guiding principle for a focus on authenticity: BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU DRINK
