Champagne Lombard stands as a cherished, family-owned estate nestled in Epernay, just north of the esteemed Cotes des Blancs region. Its roots trace back to 1925 when Robert Andrieu, a skilled farmer from the Southwest of France, founded the estate. In the 1960s, Philippe Lombard, his son-in-law, took the reins, and today, the estate is under the adept management of Thierry Lombard, the heir to this fine legacy.
The Lombard family possesses 10 hectares of vineyards situated in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de l’Ardre, and the Cote des Bars. Devoted to sustainable practices, the vineyards are cultivated with care, with some undergoing organic conversion. To create exceptional blends, the family sources grapes from the most distinguished terroirs of Champagne, including the prestigious Grand Crus of “Mesnil-sur-Oger,” “Avize,” “Cramant,” and “Chouilly” in the Cote des Blancs, as well as “Verzenay” and “Ambonnay” in the Montagne de Reims.
A true marvel, the “Caves” of Lombard extend over a 1.5-mile span, spanning two levels and even extending beneath adjacent streets, all meticulously carved out of chalk to craft the finest Champagne expressions.
