|| | $39 | 2021 Mischa Estate Malbec Reserve

Mischa Estate was started as a vine nursery in 1947. Three generations later, two brothers are taking the family business to the next level. The Estate is one of the largest vine nurseries in the Southern Hemisphere, and their knowledge spans across the vine growing and wine making process, from grafting new vines to bottling exceptional wines. While producing award-winning wines, Mischa Estate continues to consult on and supply nursery vines to South Africa’s leading wine farms. This has solidified Mischa Estate as a player with extensive viticultural knowledge of the South African terroirs.

Malbec is a purple grape variety known for making inky dark wines with substantial tannins. It is one of the six cultivars allowed in a Bordeaux blend and was made famous in Argentina. On Mischa we have a very small planting of Malbec, so the production of this awesome wine is extremely limited. The Malbec is the smallest part of Mischa Estate’s production, but it is certainly one of the most unique and special wines we have to offer.

“Deep, dark magenta with purple hues. Intense aromas of blackberry and blueberries transport you straight into a berry orchard. The inky color translates beautifully into the expression of dark fruit. Subtle notes of oak and cocoa does wonders for the complexity of this wine. This wine has the drinker hooked long before the first sip is even taken.
This is a full bodied wine that is silky smooth, yet has ripe and grippy tannins that develop seamlessly with flavors of dark wild berries and finishes with a hint of French oak. The long and satisfying finish is full of blueberry, oak spice and cocoa.”
