Mischa Estate was started as a vine nursery in 1947. Three generations later, two Barns brothers are taking the family business to the next level. The Estate is one of the largest vine nurseries in the Southern Hemisphere, and their knowledge spans across the vine growing and wine making process, from grafting new vines to bottling exceptional wines. While producing award-winning wines, Mischa Estate continues to consult on and supply nursery vines to South Africa’s leading wine farms. This has solidified Mischa Estate as a player with extensive viticultural knowledge of the South African terroirs.

The Mischa Estate Reserve is the embodiment of the hopes and dreams of generations of the Barns family to express and share the breathtaking vineyards we live amongst. The Barns family was the first vine nursery to make their own wine and has been single-mindedly working towards creating this wine for three generations. After extensive work in the vineyards and winery, we have hand chosen only the best grapes to bring you this pure expression of Petite Sirah.

“A deep, dark wine with a wonderful purple hue and a rich ruby rim. Lush aromas of plum and mulberry are noted first, and gentle secondary aromas of white pepper and tanned leather balance out this deeply complex wine. Generous decanting or swirling in the glass will allow this wine to truly demonstrate its full potential and rewards the drinker with an intense experience of dark fruit and soft oak. The velvet and smooth mouthfeel with substantial tannins makes this wine an experience to remember. Plums and savory spice guide the taste development on a seamless journey through the mid-palate into a long, satisfying finish.
