||| $80 | 2-Pack: Domaine Clair-Daü Rosé de Marsannay

Domaine Clair-Daü has long been considered one of the great Domaines of Burgundy. Founded in 1919 by Joseph Clair, the wines produced throughout the 20th century from vineyards in Grand Cru and Premier Cru Vineyards have become highly sought-after treasures, coveted by collectors the world over.

Bruno Clair, Joseph’s son, a brilliant winemaker from 1939 to 1982, helped to make the Clair-Daü estate one of the most famous in Burgundy. With his father, he constitutes one of the finest Burgundian wine-growing heritages on the dreamlike terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. Unfortunately, years of in-fighting between members of the two families owning portions of the Domaine took their toll and sadly the organization was dissolved and put up for sale.

Domaine Louis Jadot acquired a substantial portion of the property in 1985, including vines in Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Gevrey–Chambertin Clos St. Jacques, and other distinguished vineyards in the Côte de Nuits. Today the talented team at Louis Jadot continue to produce wines from select parcels of older vines in homage to the great name of Clair-Daü.

Offering up aromas of peach, pear, nectarine and plum. This Marsannay rosé is medium to full-bodied, silky and focused on the palate with red currant, bitter cherry, white peach and candied rose flavors braced by a core of juicy acidity.
