|||| $99 | Buy The Case: Scotto Family Cellars Verdelho

Wine has been an important part of the Scotto family since 1883 when their great-great grandfather, Salvatore Dominic Scotto, continued the Italian tradition of making wine for the family at his home on Ischia, a small island off the coast of Naples. Through the decades and generations many things have changed with the sourcing of grapes and the process of making wine, including the family’s migration from Italy to Brooklyn in 1903 and then to California in 1963. Much has remained the same, with the quest for quality fruit from lower yield vineyards along with state-of-the-art production methods and equipment to produce superior wines.

Each generation has its winemaker and sales “personality”, today those roles are filled by Paul Scotto and Anthony III (A3) respectively. Both Paul and A3 work closely with sister Natalie and brother Michael to round out the 5th generation of Scotto vintners. Together they continue to be bring well balanced, food friendly wines at an affordable price to enjoy with family and friends around the dinner table.

“Floral nose with aromas of lemon, apple and quince with excellent acidity. The brightness is framed with a soft palate of honeydew, ginger, mango, papaya and peach leading into a long and pleasing finish.”
