|||| $99 | Case Deal: 2020 Guarda Rios Red Blend

Highest Scoring Red Wine From Portugal At Decanter’s 2021 World Wine Awards

Portugal is quickly emerging as the diamond in the rough with it’s quality wines for an every day affordable price. Guarda Rios is a blend of traditional Portuguese grapes; Aragonez (Tempranillo), Syrah, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouchet. Aragonez is widely believed to produce the finest red wines of Portugal. It’s a small grape with a thick skin, adding depth and structure and famous for its black fruits. It’s known as the Cabernet of Portugal. Syrah adds color, garrigue and peppery notes. Trincadeira adds soft tannins and intense aromas of jammy plum and blackberry. Lastly we have Alicante Bouchet which softens up the wine making it approachable and friendly.

It’s a smooth and refreshing red blend that perfectly balances jammy fruits and earthy notes of garrigue. Raised in neutral oak barrels for eight months and bottled early.

“Ripe vine fruits, blackberry, chocolate and vanilla on the nose followed by juicy acidity in the mouth with ripe, supple tannins and notes of black olive, tobacco and garrigue on the palate.”
