|| GV | $27.99 | Correspondence Pinot Noir “Glencoe”

Description

These days when thinking of Pinot Noir, Burgundy is not the only region that immediately comes to mind. Oregon has consistently produced quality Pinot Noirs, cementing their place on the best wine lists in the world. Oregon and Burgundy share the 45 latitude line, giving them more similarities than differences. The long summers are warm and dry, with cool evenings which help to preserve acidity in the grapes. These conditions help to produce the elegant style of Pinot Noir that both regions are known for. Oregon tends to be slightly riper, and the earthy notes take a backseat to the fruit. Willamette Valley produces the most wines from this grape in the state and is considered the premier sub-region.

“Fresh raspberry aromas open immediately on the nose followed by darker fruits, brambles and a touch of black pepper. The flavors on the palate are exuberant red berries with a slight hint of dried herbs. The mouthfeel is fresh with balanced fruit and the finish lingers with a soft velvet texture.”
