Alsace has always been in a bit of a pickle. Its perilous location on the border of Germany and France made the area a tug-of-war for centuries. Today if you visit Alsace, you can see how the interventions of two mega empires affected the area through its architecture and the presence of both French and German languages. The food and the wine of Alsace is also a bit of a mish mash as well. For instance, Germanic grape varieties like Gewurztraminer and Riesling dominate the French region, but they are produced in a very different style. Alsace is rich in history and a hidden treasure that every wine geek instantly falls in love with.

Justin Solomon is Foxcroft’s Executive Chef and we’re so pleased to have him as our guest speaker for this event. He spent the early part of his career traveling the country and learning from some of the best in the business, James Beard award-winning chefs and regional masters of American cuisine. Justin also spent time in Alsace and will bring his knowledge of how the region incorporates food and wine into everyday life. Join us as we taste a range of wines from Alsace with a specially prepared dinner created by Chefs Justin and Chris March.
