WAV | South American Wine Dinner

South America Wines with David Faulkner

While you’ll find all the usual suspects (Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc) in South America, there are a handful of lesser known varieties that have taken on a uniquely South American identity. You might already be intimately familiar with Malbec, but others such as Torrontes and Semillon, are only now making a splash outside of the Southern Hemisphere. Chile produces peppery and earthy wines in a style very similar to Bordeaux while Argentina often offers wines with more of a soft and fruit forward profile. With other countries overshadowing Chile and Argentina, the wines produced offer a great value and should be on everyone’s list of options when considering what to pour for dinner.

David Faulkner, Regional Wine Manager for Winebow Distributing, will be our guest speaker. His knowledge of South American wine is vast and he is the perfect person to lead us through our 8 wines from Chile and Argentina.
